Alumnae Panhellenic Association of Washington, DC Scholarship

Virginia Mayflower Society Mildred Ramos Scholarship

Our annual scholarship for $1,620 was presented for the first time on May 5, 2012, by the Virginia Mayflower Society, funded by its members and friends. The Mildred Ramos Scholarship Fund is named in honor of our current assistant secretary, who has served both the Virginia Society and the General Society in a variety of roles over the years, including Governor General (of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants) and as Governor of our state group (the Society of Mayflower Descendants in the Commonwealth of Virginia).
Southern Automotive Womens Forum Scholarship

The SAWF Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to women enrolled or enrolling in a STEM field at an accredited two-year technical program, four-year undergraduate program, or a graduate program who have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA, with a preference for those interested in the automobile and mobility industry. Applicants must be female high school seniors or graduates enrolling or enrolled in a STEM field at an accredited two-year technical program, four-year undergraduate program, or graduate program.
BECA, Inc. Edna R. Anthony Memorial Scholarship

The Women of BECA, Inc. provide scholarships in the remembrance of Edna R. Anthony. Candidates must be enrolled as a high school senior and must maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Applicants must also must attend a Historically Black College or University and declare a major in Criminal Justice, Journalism or Nursing or Healthcare. Winners are announced in May. The Leo Bourassa Scholarship supports and acknowledges deserving students who are studying in fields related to water resources. Applicants for the Leo Bourassa Scholarship must be a student in good standing at any Virginia accredited college or university and a resident of Virginia at the time of application and at the time of award.
Application Deadlines: 4/24/2023
The Marocchi Memorial Scholarship provides two awards of $2,500 each, one given to a graduating senior from a Virginia high school, and one given to a Virginia resident attending a college or university in Virginia. This scholarship is for individuals who plan to pursue a career in military service beginning with the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) at a Virginia school of higher education.
WHFF Plein Environmental Scholarship

The Plein Environmental Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to benefit students in need of financial assistance who are pursuing an associate degree at Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) and intending to receive admission to a four-year university to pursue a degree in an environmental field. Each awardee can receive up to $15,000 over the course of four years of study. $2,500 per year for their first two years of study, to be completed at NVCC, followed by $5,000 per year for their final two years of study, to be completed at a 4-year Virginia public university.
Polish-American Arts Association

Applicants of the Polish-American Arts Association must be an American citizen, either by birth or naturalization. Consideration will also be given to 10-year green card permanent residents looking to become citizens. Applicant must be of Polish or Polish-American descent and demonstrate their descent with a family tree, and must be a legal resident of Washington, DC, Maryland or Virginia, OR be a full-time student at an institution in one of these jurisdictions. Applicant must be a full-time college student, currently enrolled at an accredited college/university in the United States, with confirmed future attendance at an institution in the summer/fall and must describe his/her involvement with the Polish community – past, present or future. PMI North Carolina Chapter Scholarship

The PMI North Carolina Chapter Scholarship is offered to students enrolled in or applying for an accredited academic degree program in project management or a related field. Priority, in order from most to least, is given to: residents of North Carolina; anyone planning to attend or currently attending a school in North Carolina; anyone planning to attend or currently attending a school in South Carolina or Virginia; and, anyone planning to attend or currently attending a school anywhere. Generation Hope is a nonprofit organization that helps DC-area teen parents become college graduates through one-on-one mentoring, tuition assistance, and crisis intervention. Jeffery Isaiah David Memorial Foundation Education Scholarship

The Jeffery Isaiah David Memorial Foundation Education Scholarship was established to honor the memory of PFC Jeffery Isaiah David who on February 22, 2021, closed his eyes on earth and opened them in heaven. Jeffery was just 23 years old and was a son, brother, mentor, father, and soldier in the United States Army who reached many personal accomplishments and left a great impact on the lives of many he crossed paths throughout his life, everywhere he went, and especially in the community.
Luther and Mary Ida Vandross Scholarship

Scholarship awards are determined annually and award amounts will vary. Ten to Twenty (10-20) scholarships will be awarded. Award amounts will generally range from $500-$6,000 per year. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, must be enrolled in a 4-year Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in their 3rd, 4th or 5th year of study leading to an undergraduate degree and must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 out of 4. Mary Blackwell Barnes Memorial Scholarship

The Mary Blackwell Barnes Memorial Scholarship is named in honor of Mary Blackwell Barnes, a dedicated servant of public finance. Mary passed away in 2009 at the age of 44, but her memory lives on through the contributions she made to public finance in Virginia. Throughout her 20+ year career in public finance, Mary was a great example of hard work and a positive, confident attitude.

Virginia Department of Health Nursing Scholarships

The Nursing Scholarship Program is for students in a practical nurse program (LPN) or a registered nurse (RN) program and who are accepted or enrolled a school of nursing in the State of Virginia. Scholarship recipients must agree to engage in full-time nursing in Virginia for one month for every $100 received. Presently, the Virginia Department of Health, Office of Health Equity offers several scholarship opportunities to help pay for nursing education.
Dr. Charlena M. Seymour Scholarship

The Dr. Charlena M. Seymour Scholarship was established to recognize women pursuing an advanced degree in the fields of Public and Environmental Health. DC Tuition Assistance Grant (DCTAG)

DCTAG was created by Congress in 1999 by the District of Columbia College Access Act; PL 106-98 and amended by DC College Access Improvement Act 2002 and DC College Access Improvement Act 2007 to expand higher education choices for college-bound residents of the District of Columbia. Virginia Tech Presidential Scholarship

Upon completing an application for admission, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions provides students with their applicant credentials for use with Scholarship Central. Students will have access to this portal before an offer of admission. For maximum scholarship consideration, prospective students must submit the General Scholarship Application by January 22. Blandy Experimental Farm REU Program

Undergraduate education is one of our highest priorities at Blandy Experimental Farm. Since 1992 Blandy has provided Undergraduate Research Fellowships to students interested in ecology and environmental science. We have been aided in this effort by funding from the National Science Foundation’s Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program. Our primary goal is to teach students to formulate testable hypotheses about important ecological and evolutionary questions. The format of the program encourages students to develop skills in experimental design, data collection, analysis, and critical reading of primary scientific literature. Students also learn to prepare and communicate scientific information to other scientists and the general public.

The Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation’s scholarship program awards annual grants for the education of deserving female students with financial need at more than 200 accredited educational institutions in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. In accordance with the will that established the Foundation, grantee institutions use Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation grants to award need-based scholarships to Christian women who live in one of the specified states.

The Morgan State Actuarial scholarships are $20,000 ($5,000 per year renewable for 4 years). Applicants must have a strong Math background, attend Morgan State and intend to pursue a career in the Actuarial Science profession. Merit scholarships for the upcoming school year range from in amounts annually and are renewable with continued full-time enrollment and satisfactory academic progress.
